We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity for a skilled Java Development Lead to make a significant impact in the Aphmau universe. In this role, you will be instrumental in actualizing creative mod concepts for Minecraft, utilizing Java. Your proficiency will be crucial in crafting the captivating worlds that enchant millions of viewers monthly. This position offers an experienced Java developer the chance to assume a managerial role and expand a team!

 

This is an onsite position in Austin, Texas. Relocation assistant provided. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Catface is currently not hiring those who require sponsorship now or in the future. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of developers to develop and implement new mod ideas for Minecraft.
  • Utilize Java and Minecraft Forge 1.12.2 to create stable, efficient, and innovative mods.
  • Debug, optimize and ensure the compatibility of mods with existing game elements.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to conceptualize engaging mod features.
  • Maintain documentation for mod development processes and versioning.
  • Organize and standardize processes and files.
  • Set standards for contractors work and testing.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Java, with a focus on game development.
  • Prior experience in developing mods for Minecraft, particularly with Minecraft Forge 1.12.2 
  • Translate design ideas into functional game code.
  • Troubleshooting code and fixing bugs
  • Experience leading a small game development team through multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of Minecraft gameplay mechanics and modding community trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently on project deliverables.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a knack for creative thinking.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively articulate ideas and collaborate with the creative team.
  • Ability to meet and understand deadlines.
  • Ability to understand feedback and act on it.
